Revington Arthur, originally from Stamford, CT, sought inspiration across America. He studied under esteemed artists such as George Luks, Arshile Gorky, Kimon Nicholaides, and Grant Reynard. His work was exhibited at prominent institutions like the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and Carnegie Institute, and featured in Time and Esquire magazines. His pieces are part of permanent collections at The Brooklyn Museum, The Delaware Museum, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. As a Silvermine Guild member, Arthur taught at the Chautauqua Art Summer School in New York for forty-three summers, eventually becoming director from 1945 to 1983. One of his notable works, “Habitat II,” is an acrylic on canvas measuring 72″ x 46″. Though unsigned and unframed, it features some staining and mold spots on the bottom of the back of the canvas.
