Revington Arthur, a native of Stamford, CT, found inspiration across America, studying under masters like George Luks, Arshile Gorky, Kimon Nicholaides, and Grant Reynard. His distinguished career included exhibitions at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and Carnegie Institute, with features in Time and Esquire magazines. His works are housed in permanent collections at The Brooklyn Museum, The Delaware Museum, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. A dedicated member of the Silvermine Guild, Arthur spent forty-three summers teaching at the Chautauqua Art Summer School in New York, where he served as director from 1945 to 1983. Among his notable works is “Requiem,” a 50″ x 35″ oil painting signed lower left.
